Simone Crowe

Organizing Fellow

Simone has joined CSE in a collaborative fellowship with OPAL Environmental Justice, as the Oregon Green New Deal Listening Tour Fellow. Simone graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art with an MFA in Collaborative Design in spring 2020. For her thesis project, Simone conducted design research and design-thinking to consider how impacted communities might be engaged in policy-making, using the Oregon Green New Deal Listening Tour as a case study.

Prior to graduate school, Simone was Field Director and Organizer for the groundbreaking Portland Clean Energy Fund ballot initiative. Simone was the Senior Communications Manager at Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon, and has led communications, fundraising and volunteer teams for anti-hunger, reproductive rights and anti-domestic violence advocacy organizations. Simone has a passion for creative community engagement strategies and practicing human-centered design for racial, social and climate justice. Simone grew up in downeast Maine, graduated from Prescott College in Arizona, and has lived in Oregon since 2012.
