IPCC Report: 12 Years to Reduce Emissions by 45 Percent Below 2010

In the aftermath of Hurricane Michael unleashing 155-mile winds across the Florida panhandle, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a report that said far worse was to come, if the world didn’t dramatically lower greenhouse gas emissions over the next 12 years in order to avoid temperature increases of more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. CSE’s Climate Justice Program Director Daphne Wysham discussed the report’s findings on The Real News Network on Monday, October 8, 2018. Among other things, she discussed the ways in which people can take action at the state and local level–despite attempts to thwart meaningful action on climate at the federal level.
