Zack Kearl

Research Fellow

Zach Kearl is CSE’s events coordinator and research fellow, working closely with our Climate Justice team. Zach recently helped organize the first Portland Just Transition Convergence. The Convergence included participants from organized labor, environmental justice, living wage, tribal, affordable housing, and climate and energy activists and elected officials who began to outline the beginnings of a
“just transition” for the City of Portland as it moves toward a 100 percent renewable energy and energy efficient future and away from new fossil fuel infrastructure. Zach also assisted CSE on just transition opportunities in Alaska as that state transitions away from a fossil fuel economy. Zach holds a bachelor’s degree from Lewis & Clark College in economics and environmental studies.
