Aaron is the Center for Sustainable Economy’s Climate Justice Research Fellow. He is a senior at Gonzaga University studying Sustainable Business and Sociology, and his interests include sustainable development, ecological economics, and political-economic systems change
In 2014, Aaron traveled to Chennai, India as part of a humanitarian award called the Opus Prize and learned about a grassroots advocacy organization run by “untouchables” in the city seeking to protect their rights, educate their children, and defeat caste discrimination. Ultimately, Aaron raised $46,000 to help a student from that community come to the US to earn a masters degree in Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga. In 2015, Aaron spent the summer working in Port-au-Prince, Haiti with a social enterprise providing dignified, living wage employment hiring local, at-risk Haitian artisans to make sandals from locally sourced materials.
Aaron is focused on work for CSE around climate change, overconsumption of the Earth’s resources, and unsustainable international development.
